BIOFEEDBACK
For anxiety, insomnia, and stress-related disorders
Biofeedback is a noninvasive technique that enhances self-awareness, self-regulation, and the mind-body connection by teaching you to direct activity of the nervous system in useful or healthful ways. Sensors are gently placed on points of the body to measure your physiology, such as heart rate variability (HRV), muscle tension, blood flow, sweat response, or brainwaves, which are observed in real-time using computerized equipment. Through various forms of feedback, one can learn to volitionally change the body’s signals to improve and a number of sleep and stress-related conditions. In some cases, it is useful to combine biofeedback with cognitive behavioral therapy or other approaches to meet your needs.
Some examples of conditions treatable with biofeedback include:
-
Chronic pain
-
Headache or migraine
